Drummer Sinclair Lott was born into a musical family in Los Angeles. By High School he had studied with premiere teachers Forrest Clark, Mitchell Peters and Jim Keltner. In college he was a student of percussion guru John Bergamo becoming a featured performer in his award winning avant-garde percussion ensemble.
Upon graduating he performed with orchestras in Los Angeles concert halls, in clubs and festivals with rock bands and on the streets of LA, ultimately working with Frank Zappa and touring and recording with jazz trumpet icon Freddie Hubbard. He has also performed with Mose Allison, Big Joe Turner, Dorothy Donegan, San Francisco Opera, Eric Gale, Bruce Forman, Chris Dawson, Dianne Reeves, Rocco Prestia, Fowler Bros. Billy Childs, California New Music Ensemble, Tierney Sutton, Wilson Phillips, Gene Cipriano and Chuck Berghofer.
He continues to perform and record with many eclectic artists in a variety of genres. Long Story Short is his first self-produced recording as a leader. It includes saxophonist Bob Sheppard, pianist Tigran Hamasyan and bassist Danny McKay.
